Post Office

In November, we will be opening three new Post Office and UOE Stores in North London.
After a consultation period, UOE has been awarded the franchise to run Post Office branches at Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Stoke Newington.
Each branch will be closed for refurbishment for three days before reopening as UOE Store & Post Office. The dates are as follows:

Crouch End

Closed for refurbishment 9-12 November
Reopening on Monday 13 November 7 days a week

It’s been a rocky road

The process of being awarded these Post Office franchises has by no means been a smooth one and there has been a lot of local opposition to the move, including protests and petitions. What customers have mainly been worried about is the loss of “a great public service”.

We would like to reassure everyone that there will be no loss of service at all. In fact, we will be offering an improved service because of our longer opening hours and Sunday opening, along with the stationery, gifts and services that will be available in our shops.

We are confident that once the UOE Store takes over, customers who had previously expressed doubts will realise we are as passionate about keeping the Post Office as an integral part of the local community as they are.

Our first three UOE Stores & Post Offices have received some lovely Google reviews, and we look forward to reading similar ones in the future:

“It’s East Finchley’s Post Office replacement, and I’m grateful for their decent service and early opening hours. Got to admit, I don’t miss the old Post Office at all, and I’m the sort of boring bloke with a social conscience who worries about such changes…” Alan Crockford

“I love this post office it’s customer-friendly, has extended opening hours, clean and modern environment and stationery supplies. I use this post office all the time, rarely have to queue for long and have never had a bad experience. On the contrary, I have had plenty of experiences where the friendly, upbeat staff have gone out of their way to be helpful.” Freda Dempster

“Love this store 🙂 Good to have a small company in the area, and not a soulless chain. Super friendly staff who always go out of their way to help me and the post office service has gotten so much better since it has been incorporated into UOE. The store also looks so much nicer and fresher since they refurbished it a few months ago and I love perusing for cards and pretty stationery. Three thumbs up if I had them.” 20 something
