We’re on a winning streak at the moment. First we won the Post Office Retailer of the Year at the Retail Industry Awards, and now we’ve only gone and won the Office Friendly Excellence Award too!
Office Friendly is a co-operative organisation giving a voice to independent companies. As a collective membership organisation, it is a unique organisation in that every member is an equal shareholder with an equal vote. Office Friendly supports members with guidance, marketing initiatives, special deals and CSR initiatives. They are currently working on initiatives around single use plastics. The organisation pushes for change which is why we like them.
Our MD Elliot Jacobs was on hand to accept the award. He said: “It was a great honour to receive the award and to be recognised by our peers for what we do. I believe that one of the main reasons we won was because of our forward-thinking business model which relies on innovation and diversification.
“For the past four years we have been transforming the way we do business and our take up of Post Office franchises has enabled us to achieve amazing growth, expanding from one high street store to six Post Office & UOE Stores (with another one on the way) and the addition of a coworking hub above one of our stores (and another planned for next year).
“Taking over the Post Office franchises has enabled us to give customers a better experience, with 7 day opening hours, shorter queues, brighter stores, and friendly staff who are all trained in all aspects of the retail and Post Office operations. We now serve around 1.7 million customers in-store annually.
“We also have a thriving B2B procurement service for office supplies and office furniture, so with three diverse businesses under the UOE umbrella, a great track record and ambitious plans for the future, it’s no wonder we’re feeling like winners!”
